Public Hearing called to order at 7:00 Pm by Chair-Doug Graham

Present were Ralph Mock, Richard Overton, Ernest Coleman, Chris Yens, Doug Graham, Nancy Chin

Introduction: Doug Graham- The purpose of this Hearing is to discuss a voluntary Federal Program, which allows Dayton Township residents to purchase flood insurance at a reduced rate. There is no cost for the Township to join this program. Cat Lake is the only area in Dayton Township that has been designated as a flood zone. This program allows for persons living in the Cat Lake flood zone to purchase flood insurance at a reduced rate through FEMA, a Federal Program. At this point the Hearing was turned over to Bob Cook for further explanation.

Bob Cook further explained the program to the public and introduced a map of the flood zone, explaining that our Township will have to identify the parcels affected in the designated flood zone area.

Discussion followed, complete with time allotted for the public to view the Flood Zone Map for Dayton Township.

Public Comment- Ron Terbreck of Cat Lake commented that he had phoned his insurance carrier and they notified him that he will be required to purchase flood insurance.

Motion made by Chris Yens to adjourn the Hearing, Seconded by Richard Overton, motion carried, Hearing adjourned by Doug Graham at 8:02 Pm.
