Proposed Minutes of
Dayton Township Planning Commission
October 17, 2011
Meeting was called to order by Doug Graham at 7:30 PM
Present were Doug Graham, Bob Steele, Chris Yens, Ralph Mock, Ernest Coleman, Richard Overton & Nancy Chin.
Minutes from August meeting were read, a motion to approve the minutes was made by Ernest Coleman, seconded by Richard Overton, motion carried,
minutes were approved.
Zoning Administrator’s Report: Bob Cook was not in attendance.
Secretary’s Report: No calls or correspondence were received.
Public Comment: No Public Comment.
Old Business:
Bob Steele, Doug Graham & Bob Cook attended a meeting in the past month titled: To Protect Water Quality. The subject matter of the meeting was
about updating water quality and pollution control to protect Saginaw Bay Watershed. It was noted that Tuscola Counties copy of the Dayton Township
Zoning Ordinance Book did not include a Land Use Map, this will be resolved by Bob Cook per Doug Graham. The wind energy, concerning placement of
wind turbines, height, etc., continues to be discussed and will be tabled for the April 2012 meeting.
New Business:
A motion was made to approve the wording of the Conflict of Interest Policy by Bob Steele, seconded by Chris Yens. Motion carried with 7 yes votes,
Policy wording was approved. Both the Conflict of Interest Policy and the Marijuana Ordinance will be scheduled for a Public Hearing to take place
on January, 9, 2012 @ 7:00 PM in the Dayton Township Hall, notice will be published in the Advertiser in December, 2011. A motion requesting a 6 month
extension on the Medical Marijuana Ordinance was made by Richard Overton, seconded by Ernest Coleman, motion carried with 7 yes votes, recommendation
to be presented at the Regular Township Board meeting in December, 2011.
A motion for adjournment of the meeting was made by Bob Steele, seconded by Chris Yens, Motion carried, meeting was adjourned by Doug Graham at
8:46 PM.
