Dayton Township Planning Commission Meeting
December 15, 2008
Meeting was called to order by Doug Graham at 7:30 PM
Present were Doug Graham, Ralph Mock, Bob Steele, Chris Yens, Richard Overton, Ernest Coleman, and Nancy Chin.
Minutes from October meeting were read and approved through a motion made by Bob Steele, seconded by Ralph Mock, motion carried, minutes were approved.
Zoning Administrator’s Report: Bob Cook reported, two permits were issued for pole barns, and there were three land divisions. Bob stated, he tried to call Mr. Hughes: left messages on Mr. Hughes cell phone and home phone asking them to return his calls, Bob received a text message on his cell phone, reading “No we won’t”.
Secretary’s Report: No calls or correspondence received.
Old Business: Doug Graham stated that Mr. Hughes land use permit has expired as of December 2008 and requested a letter be sent reported that the Blight committee now has a seventh volunteer, which is Dave Pape, who will be chairing the meetings.on the MTA Zoning and Planning Commission workshop, many of the topics were review. Noted were the requirements for a Year End Report and an Annual Budget, which would need to be finalized by December, 2008.
Doug also discussed the Eco-Friendly Tour that he attended and updated everyone on all new eco-friendly projects currently underway in the Thumb area. Notation was made as to the Master Plan for Dayton Township and Doug stated, he will look into this and report on it next meeting, also stated that Tuscola County is 20% agricultural and that Dayton Township is also trying to preserve agricultural land. Discussion took place regarding part of Dayton Township (80 acres) being annexed to Mayville.
Public Comment- No public Comment
A motion was made by Chris Yens to accept the resolution to the Amendment 19.23 B., seconded by Ralph Mock, Roll Call as follows: Bob Steele-yes, Doug Graham-yes, Nancy Chin-yes, motion carried. The Amendment will now be referred to the Regular Dayton Township Board for their next meeting.
The Blight Committee now has six volunteers: Jim Bondy, Rick Seidler, Bernie Bishop, Linda Davis, Richard Horsch, and Bob Moss.
Old Business: John Ball will be moving a portion of his fence back off the corner of Treasurer Rd. and Snover Rd., Bob Cook has offered his assistance of a tractor and post hole digger for this project.
Motion made for the adjournment of the meeting by Bob Steele, seconded by Ralph Mock. Meeting adjourned at 8:15PM by Doug Graham-Chair.
