Proposed Regular Meeting Minutes
April 7, 2008

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Members Bob Cook, Stacy Phillips and Eleanor Kilmer were present.

Minutes from the regular board meeting on March 3, 2008 were motioned for approval by Kilmer and seconded by Phillips. Motion carried minutes from the regular board meeting was approved.
Minutes from the budget public hearing on March 29, 2008 were motioned for approval by Kilmer and seconded by Phillips. Motion carried minutes from the budget public hearing was approved.

COUNTY COMMISSIONER: Don Mclane was present to give an overview on what was happening at the county level along with requesting the support of residents for his reelection of County Commissioner.

PLANNING COMMISSION: Doug Graham commented that their meeting was coming up on the 21st of April, and the planning commission meetings were now every other month instead of quarterly. There was not anything on the agenda for the planning commission’s upcoming meeting, besides the process of when they changed their name and the few things involved with the MZEA.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR: Bob Cook reported that he did not issue any permits, but he had some questions in regards to zoning.

CEMETERY: Eleanor commented that there were no burials, but she had some questions as well.

PUBLIC COMMENT: Gary Harmon had a question about what had happened with Byington Road because he was out of the state for a while. Bob Cook commented that the decision with the board was to leave the status as it was, and Bob also wanted the residents to know that he was going to make a comment on that when it came to the Supervisor. Bob stated that it is not a road, but a right-of-way and that is how the board had chosen to leave it. It was on the agenda for discussion in January and if any resident wanted to comment that was their opportunity to do so.

There were also many comments from residents about the roads and the road side brush removal.

SUPERVISOR: Bob Cook then had made the comment in regards to Byington Road and the petition that he had received from the residents, surrounding the area, to have this road abandon. He then made the comment that this issue was on the agenda and discussed in January, and the Township Board had made their decision then that this will remain as it was in the past. It is not a road, but a right-of-way and that is all that will be discussed, at this time, in regards to it. The decision had been made.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Eleanor reported that there was $495,222.94 on hand at the beginning of April 2007 plus an income of $382,603.16 for 2008 equaling $877,826.10. There were expenses of $317,006.14 which makes a total of $560,819.66 with the new CD that total will be $570,819.66 on hand for April of 2008. There is $7,897.19 in the checking and $248,828.62 in the money market and with the CD’s that the Township currently has there is on hand $570,819.66 with these combined items.

CLERK’S REPORT: There are invoices to be paid check #5291 thru #5314 in the amount of $24,315.40 Kilmer motioned to pay these said bills, and it was seconded by Phillips. Motion carried these invoices will be paid. There was not further discussion from the clerk.

At this time Phillips motioned for adjournment at 8:00 p.m.
