DAYTON TOWNSHIP
Proposed Regular Meeting Minutes
December 5, 2011
Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Members Bob Cook, Stacy Phillips, Eleanor Kilmer, Bob Steele and Mike Mocniak were all present.
Minutes from the November 7, 2011 meeting were motioned for approval by Mocniak and seconded by Steele. Motion carried with 5 yes.
Public Comment: Rick Seidler commented again in regards to Family Lane and he wanted to know how Bob could not have seen all the debris that was located in the tall weeds and brush. Bob had stated that without walking all over the property these items were not noticeable from the drive way. Bob did state that he would address the issue again and hopefully he could find the residents.
Planning Commission: There last meeting was on Dec. 19th at which time they had gone over the Conflict of Interest Policy and the Medical Marijuana Ordinance. There will be a public hearing for these items on January 9th at 7:00 p.m. When these items have been completed in there in entirety the planning commission will then address the wind energy ordinance.
Zoning Administrator: There was one permit issued for an addition.
Blight Enforcement Officer: There was nothing new to report, except for what was previously addressed in regards to Family Lane.
Cemetery: There was a burial of two cremains for the Terbush family, at West Dayton Cemetery.
Supervisor: Bob commented in regards to the asphalt bidding, with the county, for Mayville Rd.(Plain Rd. to Hurds Corner Rd.), and the fact that they can top this road; not grind it up and replace it. The township board will not know that cost of this until spring. Bob also did address that all the secondary dirt roads are a mess and the county is aware of this. The roads will need to dry up some before they can grade them.
Treasurer: There is an income of $689.53, expenses of $18,531.41 with balances of $5,5558.74 in checking, $77,730.66 in money market, face value of CD’s $221,269.69 and a total on hand of $304,559.09.
Taxes have gone out and are being paid at a steady rate.
Clerk: There are invoices to be paid from the AUTO EFT, checks #6308 - #6321 in the amount of $15,374.26 mostly due to garbage, wages and utilities. Steele motioned to pay these said invoices, seconded by Mocniak. Motion carried with 5 yes.
Stacy then had mentioned the service agreement that was received from Election Source for the annual maintenance of the Optech election machine. There agreement fee is $235.00 annually for full coverage or $85.00 for partial coverage. Steele motioned to sign the agreement for the fee of $235.00, seconded by Mocniak. Motion carried with 5 yes. Stacy will get this signed and mailed back to Election Source.
With no other discussion the meeting was motioned for adjournment at 8:20 p.m.
