Fire Protection For ALL Fire Emergencies call 9-1-1 Dayton Township's "Fire Protection Ordinance" states liability for fire protection services shall lie with the owners of real or personal property. Dayton Township contracts with neighboring Villages for fire protection services. An annual "Stand-By Protection Fee" is paid from the General Fund for these contracts. This is a small expenditure in comparison to the costs of operating a township fire department. "Service Fees" are set by the individual fire departments and are passed on to the "recipient of service" by way of invoice issued by Dayton Township to owners of property. Village of Kingston Fire Department Contracted coverage to (11) eleven sections: 1-6 and 9-13. Village of Kingston Fire Department Service Fees*: Fire Run - 1st hour - $800. (Minimum charge) Fire Run - each additional hour - $200. Village of Mayville Fire Department Contracted coverage to (25) twenty-five sections: 7-8 and 14-36. Village of Mayville Fire Department Service Fees*: Fire Run - 1st hour - $750. (Minimum charge) Fire Run - each additional hour - $200. JAWS of LIFE Run - $600. NO USE of Service - $400. "WASHDOWN" - $300. *These fees may not be all inclusive. Other charges may apply on a case-by-case basis. "Burning Permits" are required in Dayton Township. BEFORE you burn or bon-fire contact the Fire Department that covers your section of the Township for a permit. A fire run charge may be incurred by failure to have a proper burning permit in place.
